Can the text be read without zooming?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the visitor has to squint or zoom in to read the text, there&#8217;s already a problem.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Body text, buttons, contact information, and other important elements should be easy to read on a smaller screen.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is often where you notice the difference between a design that simply scales down and one that actually works on mobile.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Are the buttons big enough for a finger?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What works well with a mouse doesn&#8217;t always work quite as well with a thumb.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If buttons are too small, too close together, or have too little space around them, the page quickly becomes frustrating to use.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This applies in particular to:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>contact buttons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>menu items<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>form fields<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>small icons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>links that are close to each other<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mobile-friendly website should be easy to tap\u2014not something you miss several times in a row.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Does the menu make sense on a mobile device?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A menu can be easy to navigate on a desktop but still feel cluttered on a mobile device.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is less space, and the user is often more focused.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a mobile device, it should be easy to find:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What the company offers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how to contact you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the most important subpages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the menu is long or has many levels, it quickly becomes more of a hassle than a help.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Do the images and content fit the screen?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On mobile devices, large images, long headlines, and densely packed sections quickly become more prominent.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out, among other things:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>whether images are cropped neatly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if text blocks become too long<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>whether there is enough air between the sections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>whether the content is presented in a logical order<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A website can be technically responsive without necessarily providing a good mobile experience.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Is the most important information easy to find?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a cell phone, there&#8217;s less space and often less patience.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, the user should be able to quickly understand:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>who you are<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what you offer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what the next step is<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If contact information, services, or key messages are buried at the bottom of the page, the user experience becomes unnecessarily cumbersome.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mobile-friendly design is therefore also a matter of prioritization.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test the website on your own phone<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best test is often the simplest one.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take out your phone.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do not use the preview in your page builder.<br\/>Do not use the browser&#8217;s developer tools.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your phone.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the website just as a customer would.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the menu. Read the text. Click the buttons. Fill out the form.
